The entries in the specialist encyclopaedia on the culture and history of the Germans in Eastern Europe include both geographical and topographical terms and key historical, cultural and academic concepts.

The encyclopaedia is divided into four sections: towns and cities, regions, countries (both modern-day states and historical countries), terms, concepts and institutions (group designations, territorial entries, academic terms and ideological concepts, institutions and religious communities).
